Blast off teaching idea from Self Regulation section of Rae Pica's training

Blast off. The children squat low, pretending to be spaceships on their launchpads. You then count backward dramatically from ten to one. When you say, “Blast off!” the children launch themselves upward. Repeat as long as the children stay interested Learning about spaceships places this activity under the heading of science. Counting backward, of course, is a math activity. If you hold a discussion about astronauts, you’ll bring in another aspect of social studies.
