This blog has resources for toddlers and preschool ideas and some special needs ideas that I learned in my exceptionality grad class.

Zig Zag
The children begin scattered around the room or outside play area.
When you call out, “Go!” they begin to run around.
When you call out, “Zig!” they move quickly to the right (or in one designated direction).
When you call out, “Zag!” they move quickly to the left (or in the other direction).
Eventually you can begin calling out the directions faster and faster. The faster you go, the more self-regulation will be required!
Active listening is a component of emergent literacy.
Because the children will have to cooperate in order to share the space successfully, this adds another element of social studies to that of self-regulation.
